A Small Group Ministry is a ministry of the Church whose mission is to empower group leaders and members to transform their lives, churches and the world.

The group is an intentional face-to-face gathering from four to fourteen people meeting at regular intervals (usually weekly). Their common purpose is that of discovering and growing in the possibilities of the abundant life God has promised.

Why are the small groups special?

Small groups aren't simply another name for a Bible study, fellowship group or Sunday School class. They are a collection of believers who have banded together for a purpose in life...to reach the lost, minister to the hurting and each other, and discover their own leadership potential.

The small clusters of folks also have fun together, and other people are exposed to a group of Jesus-loving people having a good time!

When and where do they meet?

The members of the small group make a joint decision when and where they meet.

There are currently two small groups:

bullet

Every Monday evening at 7:00 p.m.
Ruben G's home (Broadway/Army)

bullet

Every Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m.
Joe T's home

Groups meet at a time and place that is comfortable for both the members and newcomers. Private homes, community centers, back area of a restaurant...all are acceptable places to congregate. It needs to be a place where all concerned feel comfortable and safe.

What do we do in one?

Each gathering has basically the same overall agenda, which may change with regard to people's needs. A typical agenda includes:

bullet

Fellowship - everyone arrives and "checks in" to see how everyone is
doing (food is usually involved in this part of the meeting!)

bullet

Evangelism - dialogue concerning new folks who have come, or ones
we need to encourage to come

bullet

Personal Prayer - each person shares their blessings and needs, along
with praying for each other

bullet

Bible Application - review a topic chosen at the beginning of a six week
cycle. The ones present can decide how the message could
affect them individually, or collectively, in their community ministry.

bullet

Sharing and Caring - just what it says

Can't we get all that on Saturday or Sunday?

Both the small group meetings and the celebratory services are vital for success in Spiritual growth and Church growth.

The groups meet individually to experience Christ's love through others in a warm setting. The celebration services on Saturdays and Sundays allow us to experience God in high worship and to receive teaching from the Word of God.

All gatherings jointly, and in harmony, fulfill all God has to offer us.
